1000 rockers play Foo Fighters song to get Grohl's attention
1000 musicians from all over Italy have gathered in Cesena to play just one song together in an attempt to get Dave Grohl's band to have a concert there.
The thousand-strong band set up in a field to play Learn to Fly in a gathering so large it required conductor Marco Sabiu to stand on a platform raised two storeys off the ground.
Project creator Fabio Zaffagnini addressed the crowd after their successful performance.
"This video is gonna be seen by a huge, a huge amount of people all over the world, but to be true, it's been conceived to be addressed to just five people."
"So Chris, Pat, Nate, Taylor, and Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters.
"You know, Italy is a country where dreams do not easily come true, but it's a land of passion and creativity.
"So what we did here is just a huge, huge miracle.
"I've been working on this ****ing project for more than one year, waking up every morning thinking about how to make it real.
"And this is all that we got. 1000 people, 1000 rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expenses, and they just did for one song, your song.
"So our call is to ask you, the Foo Fighters to come and play for us, come and play in here, give a concert to us here in Cesena."
