5pm: MORE heavy rain is predicted for the Gympie Region with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a severe weather warning for parts of the Wide Bay Burnett and the Darling Downs.
The warning came in at 4.45pm after a day of rain in Gympie and surrounding districts.
Heavy rain is expected to fall when an upper low develops across southeast Queensland overnight and moves westwards during the next 48 hours.
The BOM warns of flash flooding on the Southeast Coast and southern parts of Wide Bay, Burnett and far eastern parts of the Darling Downs.
Gympie, Fraser Island, Kingaroy and the Sunshine Coast are expected to get falls of up to 100-200mm.
More than 100mm swamped Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay overnight on Wednesday.
See Friday's Gympie Times for the full story.
