Tin Can Bay Crocs Swimming Club will host more than 180 swimmers today.
Cooloola Coast Crocs Swimming Club is getting the togs on for their second annual swim meet today.
Club race secretary Bridgette Kenney said the final preparations were under way with 183 athletes competing from 16 clubs from around the Wide Bay region.
"We have 920 nominations in total," Kenney said.
The swimming pool gates will open at 7.45am in readiness for competition to start at 9am.
"There are a lot of relay entries again this year," Kenney said.
"The relays are a really good way for the swimmers to let loose at the end of the day."
The swimming meet is a qualifying meet for the first time.
Times achieved can be used for qualifying for Queensland swimming championships.
Kenney said the program also offered many events for the young and up-and-coming swimmers to swim their 25m distances in all strokes.
"It encourages them to participate in longer distances if they want to," Kenney said.
"The club is looking forward to a great day and this has been made possible with the hard work and dedication of the members, parent helpers and, of course, the fabulous support of the Cooloola Coast businesses."
She said there would be 100% participation from the members of the Crocs swim club at the meet.
"The training sessions for our members this season have been a combination of training by themselves at the Tin Can Bay pool and travelling to Gympie," Kenney said.
They train two to three times a week under the guidance of coach Elizabeth Manthey as the Cooloola Coast region is at present without the services of qualified swim coach.
