A THIRD window in Mary St has had a makeover by Joe Grant and his small team of devoted helpers in the Mary Street Window Display Beautification project.

Artist Isabella Dee Robinson and Joe Grant hang Isabella’s painting of the original Northumberland Hotel in one of three vacant Mary St shopfronts as part of the Mary Street Window Display Beautification project.

A THIRD window in Mary St has had a makeover by Joe Grant and his small team of devoted helpers in the Mary Street Window Display Beautification project.

Joe plans to change the displays on a monthly basis to ensure there is always something fresh to see and entice people back into Gympie's main street.

The local feature artist for this window display is Kay Boneham.

Along with Kay's paintings are displays from Victory Care Services food hampers and Cooloola Nature.

"The community support for the project just keeps growing," Joe said.

"As well as donations of building materials from Laminex, Mitre 10, Carter Holt Harvey, Robertson Brothers sawmills, a very kind donation of stationery from Kingston Office National has been made to the project.

"Artists are coming forward with donations of artwork which will be auctioned at a later date and proceeds to be donated to charities, after additional project costs have been met."

Local artist Isabella Dee Robinson has donated a painting of the original Northumberland Hotel before it burned down and photographer Ian Smith has donated his award winning photograph of a Fraser Island dingo.

Displayed between the two is local artist Kim Leanne Gibson's donation of a vibrant oil painting titled Bush Fire.

You can keep up to date with activities relating to the Mary Street Window Beautification Project as well as catch plenty of behind the scene action by following the Mary Street Revival face book page.

Local artists looking for somewhere to display their work, community groups keen to promote their activities, people with some spare time who would like to lend a hand and building owners who would like their empty shops re-energised are invited to contact Joe on 5482 9206 or 0432 483 620.

Or alternatively, email marystrevival@hotmail.com, or drop into Kim Leanne's ART, 31 Mary St and add your contact details to the register.
