FLAVOURFEST will be the inaugural event showcasing the wonderful array of food and wine from the entire Gympie, Cooloola and South Burnett regions.
The event is a community partnership between Gympie Regional Council, Gympie Cooloola Rotary, The Gympie Times and Wide Bay TAFE, and has been facilitated by Apple Event Management.
Although a couple of years in the planning, this event is aiming to put Gympie region in the food spotlight.
It will open 10am–6pm, Saturday, July 23. This tasy event is open for exhibitors offering samples, tastings and sales and who are also willing to share their tips and hints for the best uses of their products. Exhibitors could include wineries, fudge, sweet treats, baked goods, olives, oils, preserves, sauces, relishes, a selection on of cheeses, meats and produce growers.
Ben O’Donoghue, who people will be familiar with from Surfing the Menu, Best in Australia and various other roles, will be joined on the day by Ready Steady Cook’s Matt Golinski, who is very well known and respected and native to the Sunshine Coast.
In conjunction with Flavourfest, Gympie Council is offering local producers and growers the opportunity to attend workshops specifically designed to enhance and grow their businesses.
