Dog co-author of new book

TAKE a bow (wow) Gympie; because it’s official – you have the first dog to have his own book published.

With a little help from his human mate, Chatsworth State School teacher Robyn Osborne, Sox has penned Dog Logic: A pooch’s guide to dogs behaving badly.

The blue cattle dog cross may have had humble beginnings, rescued from the pound when he was just a scrap, but he’s thrived with the Osborne family and morphed into somewhat of a four legged philosopher.

Mrs Osborne’s quirky and fun dog help book combines the creative genius of Sox, with her own long-term observations to create an intriguing and personal journey into the world of dogs.

“Dog Logic was a natural progression for me,” Mrs Osborne said.

“It combined my passions – writing and animal welfare.

“What better way to foster the human/canine relationship than through a funny book written by a dog?”

The pair take the reader on a journey deep in to the canine world, sharing insights that will ensure you’re not barking up the wrong tree and answers the questions you didn’t even know you wanted to ask.

“Despite what some celebrities believe, dogs aren’t fashion accessories,” Mrs Osborne said.

“The best dog is not the one that matches your coat, hat or handbag, but one that matches your lifestyle.”

With 19 chapters covering issues from barking, beds and biting, to worrisome walks and everything in between, Sox offers his humorous but practical advice on resolving a multitude of doggy dilemmas.

Supported with tips from Bark Busters, each chapter provides both canine and human advice that is uplifting and helpful.

Published by Big Sky Publishing, the book will be available at Angus and Robertson, Gympie by the end of the month, just in time for Christmas.
