IT is all over for the Gympie Offroad Gold XI cricket outfit as the team’s final match of the season has fallen victim to the wet weather.

The Gold were due to resume today at Albert Park against Glasshouse for the final instalment of a two-day battle.

But the prolonged wet weather has rendered the Albert Park wicket unplayable.

Although the game is abandonded, Glasshouse signs off for the season with first innings points.

Sadly for the Gold, the first innings loss is not the best ending to a troubled season.

Despite many glimpses of potential, the team has failed to piece it together on the field to bag elusive victories.

However, the side has been in the middle of a rebuilding phase, blooding new talent and has shown patience that in future seasons will pay dividends.
