Old school ways

DAN Cooper is a mobile mechanic who specialises in keeping heavy machinery on the move.

With nearly 20 years of experience in diesel mechanics, going mobile means Dan now provides a convenient service that brings him right to your garage or shed door.

Broken Hill-raised, Dan and his partner Dina Sutherland bought a block of land in Gympie and settled in 2003 to raise their three children.

He did a bit of work for Gympie Regional Council and Hiway-1 Truck and Tractor before he settled in at Stevos Truck Repairs for a few years.

Now Dan has set out on his own with his new business Dan Cooper Mobile Mechanics that services Gympie, Cooloola and general Wide Bay area.

Established in March this year, the business specialises in onsite servicing and repairs to all makes and models of trucks, big and small, as well as plant machinery, loaders, dozers and tractors.

He also offers onsite repairs and servicing on all cars and four-wheel-drives.

“Being raised in Broken Hill, I started out fixing mining machinery, worked in a local car dealership and, well it seems I've been in and out of workshops all over ever since,” Dan told The Gympie Times.

“Hopefully one day after the business is well established I will be able to employ an apprentice to teach some old school ways.

“Business seems to be travelling along very well.”
