WIDE Bay Institute of TAFE is participating in a state-wide TAFE initiative to provide free training for child care students throughout 2009.
The initiative is the result of an agreement between the Queensland Department of Education and Training and the Federal Government which removes TAFE tuition fees for the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services courses.
Wide Bay Institute of TAFE acting institute director Ana Rodger said the fee removal was helping train the 14,000 additional workers needed in the Queensland childcare industry by 2010.
Programs are delivered flexibly, face-to-face or through distance learning. For further information call 1300 656 188 or visit www.widebay.tafe.qld.gov.au.
