Visions of Kimberley wildlife art

INTERNATIONALLY-renowned bird painter, Greg Postle, is showing new works at Lasting Impressions Gallery in Kenilworth from July 5-20.

This is welcome news for investors and collectors of wildlife art, many of whom have waited for years to obtain one of Greg's masterpieces.

Inspired by his love for the wilderness and wildlife of the Kimberley, his exhibition Northern Exposure features mainly the prominent waders and shorebirds of the region, meticulously painted in their natural environment.

Gone are any extraneous elements that may detract the viewer's focus from the delicacy of an egret's lace plumes or the graceful curve of its neck.

Greg's increasing maturity shines through in this exhibition.

His deep-felt sense of the beauty of the north-west is captured in the backdrop to many of his paintings.

Be it the gravitas of a stalking jabiru, the aerial dance of the welcome swallows or the powerful elegance of the sea eagle, Greg Postle's work transports us into the realm where the dream of flight meets with the actuality of nature.

“Several paintings have already pre-sold and collectors would be well-advised to make an early decision to secure one of the works available,” says gallery director Kaye Cathro.

The exhibition opens on Sunday, July 5.

A preview of the paintings is available on: www.lastingimpressionsgallery.net.
