Legal team fails to front court

THE 75-year-old Gympie man facing murder charges has had his case set back several weeks, after his legal representation failed to appear on his behalf yesterday. Confusion reigned in Gympie Magistrates Court as defendant Philip Tonal Scott waited in custody for several hours for his legal aid to arrive. Mr Scott was charged with murder in early July for allegedly shooting to death Rainbow Beach firefighter and father-of-two Peter Shane Brady. Duty lawyer Chris Anderson eventually appeared for Mr Scott, requesting a committal mention be set for August 18.
