JON Bon Jovi has one. So does Glen Frey, Garth Brooks and Troy Cassar-Daley.
And now a modest little music store in the heart of Gympie has become the first place in Australia to sell the newest version of it - the Pro Series 7 Takamine acoustic electric guitar.
Touted as an instrument for the "serious performer", it seems appropriate and kismet that the first Aussie to take possession of the Pro Series 7 Takamine lives in Gympie and acquires it just a week out from the country music muster.
Chuffed Gympie Music landowner Bob Tryhorn sold the $4000 guitar to 37-year-old Veteran guitarist Michael Conroy after Michael put in an order for the high-end instrument earlier this year.
The Japanese-made guitar is recognised as a higher quality instrument, producing a "bigger, better and warmer sound".
It is the guitar of choice for some of the world's most famous musicians.
Michael has played the piano for 17 years but only took up guitar about 18 months ago.
He opted for the Pro Series 7 because of the quality of its amplified sound.
The guitar features solid spruce tops, solid rosewood backs and sides, flame maple body and neck binding and the CTP-2 CoolTube preamp which is what generates the unmatched amplified performance.
