Region set to shiver next week
BREAK out the Ugg boots, Gympie, because the Show weather has arrived a week early this year, and those perfect autumn days and frigid nights and mornings will be sticking around for a while yet.
Cool, crisp, foggy mornings will stay with us for the next few days, though the minimum will rise slightly towards the weekend before starting to cool down again next week.
Yesterday's minimum of 7.7 degrees was almost 4 degrees below the average, and had plenty of the less cold-hardy grabbing for their winter woollies.
On Sunday and Labour Day mornings, the temperature in Gympie plummeted towards 6 degrees.
But the lowest recorded May temperature for Gympie was minus 0.9 degrees in 2006 while the highest was 32.8 degrees in 2007.
