Rattler day raises cash for camp

A FAMILY fun day held at the Rattler on Sunday will raise money for Camp Quality.

Nearly 50 children living with cancer and their parents will trade hospital beds and check-ups for a day out steaming through the beautiful Mary Valley on the famous Gympie Rattler.

The event had to be rescheduled after flooding in Gympie last month, and the would-be train travellers have been looking forward to their planned adventure for many weeks.

Sunshine Coast Community Foundation chairwoman Joan Sheldon, said the charitable trust was delighted to contribute $5500 to sponsor this special day out for children living with cancer and their families.
