On right road for a result

IT IS wonderful news that Section C of the Bruce Hwy Cooroy to Curra bypass will be brought forward by 12 months.

Tenders will be called later this year to upgrade that notorious, single-lane, hair-raising stretch south of Gympie, from Keefton Rd to Traveston Rd, where the new highway now begins.

It is a huge win for Gympie and is due in no small part to the constant pressure and campaigning applied by our local council, local police, ambulance chief and The Gympie Times.

Working together, this community is making good things happen.

Our connection to the south-east will be faster, safer and more convenient.

The fact that this is being dangled in front of us as an election enticement does not lessen its importance, nor the massive, positive ramifications it has for our region. Well done to all involved.
