Last chance to see photographic display at regional gallery

FRASER Coast residents only have one more week to see the superb photographic exhibition Remote & Wild at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery.

The exhibition comprises more than 30 large-scale photographs, by helicopter pilot and photographer Richard Green, of Australia's wildest places.

This collection spans the whole continent, from the wide open skies of the central deserts to the heat-scorched top end and the wind-stripped Tasmanian wilderness.

Richard's images are a powerful testament to the timelessness of the environment and the majestic splendor of nature.

A scientist by training, Richard uses the latest photographic technology to produce dramatic large-format, highly detailed, panoramic photographs.

Along with his wife Carolyn, he has flown across Australia more than 30 times, covering in excess of 250,000km.

Responding to the public's interest in his images, Richard has published many of his photographs in a high-quality book, Remote & Wild - Seeking the unknown Australia, which is available at the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

Remote & Wild will be on view until Sunday, January 27.

The gallery is in the Fraser Coast Cultural Centre, 166 Old Maryborough Rd, Pialba, with the car park entry via Charles St.

The gallery is open 10am to 4pm daily and entry is free.
