SAM Bushell's favourite spot is Carlo Point.
She moved to the beachside location six years ago and couldn't wait to share it with other people in the region on the Gympie Times' new Favourite Places map.
The Cardwell woman now runs a boat hire business with her husband Ernie at Carlo Point.
"We didn't know it was here. We were looking for somewhere to be closer to Brisbane, but didn't want to live in the city. We looked at Tin Can Bay, then found Carlo," she said.
The interesting thing about Carlo, apart from the beautiful winter sunsets, was that a lot of people did not know about it.
"In a way it's good for us. Some people come to the caravan park here every year because it's so beautiful and relatively quiet."
She said the inlet was home to a diverse range of wildlife from dugongs to dolphins.
"It's a bird watcher's paradise and the sunsets are magic. It's still relatively untouched."
