Great day celebrates Caitlyn

SUNDAY'S Welcome Home Caitlyn concert was a huge success and shows what can be done when the community bands together for a positive cause.

More than 3000 people packed into Nelson Reserve on a balmy afternoon to see our X Factor star Caitlyn Shadbolt in action.

Caitlyn didn't disappoint.

With the amazing Wolfe Brothers as the back up band, Caitlyn wowed the crowd and thanked everyone in town who had supported her during her time on the reality television series.

Her family, the Gympie Regional Council, Destination Gympie, the Gympie Muster, AICM, local business and media joined to make the free show a reality. The event was put together quickly but ran like clockwork. It is a credit to all involved and a fitting way to celebrate the region.
