Gibson given police post

NEWLY re-elected Member for Gympie David Gibson has been named as the new Minister for Police and Community Safety in Cambell Newman's Queensland Cabinet.

This follows the role of another former Gympie Member in the Queensland Government.

Country Party Member for Gympie, the late Max Hodges Max Hodges held the police ministry in the Bjelke-Petersen government and appointed Ray Whitrod as Queensland Police Commissioner.
