Four family-fun things to do in Brisbane this summer

Southbank is filled with fun and exciting things to do with the family.
Southbank is filled with fun and exciting things to do with the family.

A TOP destination for the young (and the young-at-heart), Brisbane has plenty on offer for family fun-times.

Out and about
Riverlife Adventure Centre at Kangaroo Point is the hot spot to get hearts pumping, offering a range of activities including an outdoor laser tag adventure, rock climbing, abseiling, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking along the Brisbane River, plus bikes, scooters and rollerblades for hire.

Pedal to the metal!
For those after bigger thrill, Go Karting Brisbane in Eagle Farm and Kingstown Park Raceway are perfect for a little friendly family competition.

Tee time
A little more sedate, but no less entertaining is the 18-hole mini golf challenge at Victoria Park Golf Club. Stunning views of the Brisbane skyline included!

Culture club

A day at Brisbane's scenic South Bank presents difficult decisions, choosing from Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, the Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library and hands-on fun for budding geniuses at the Brisbane Science Centre. The adventure playground and Streets Beach will help burn off excess energy after a morning spent indoors with plenty of pit stops to refuel at local cafes and restaurants.

A comprehensive kids' hit-list can be found here.
