Police charge woman with drug possession after raid

A WOMAN detected with methylamphetamine during a roadside drug test was later charged with a separate amphetamine possession charge when police raided her at Tin Can Bay, Gympie Magistrates Court was told yesterday.

Jainell Murphy, of King St, pleaded guilty to both charges when she appeared in the court.

Police told the court she had been detected with the drug in her saliva when stopped for testing on Tin Can Bay Rd on September 28 last year.

Then, on November 23, police found her in possession of a syringe containing methylamphetamine at premises in Skyring Pl, Tin Can Bay.

She was placed on 12 months probation for both offences.
