Driveway not safe to use
ANYONE accessing 19 Exhibition Rd would question Transport and Main Roads' safety priorities.
The department recently approved works by a developer, which included moving and replacing the driveway at No.19.
The result is a narrow concrete "bridge" over an open drain with a dangerous drop. Access is directly from the road, with no shoulder to pull off and allow other traffic past.
The only option for residents and visitors to safely access the property is to use the next-door entrance to a medical centre and drive over a concrete barrier bordering the parking lot.
A TMR spokeswoman said conditions imposed on the developer to improve motorists' access to the property were met.
